Growth of medium and small
manufacturing industry products increased by 4.74%in 2014 against 2013. The
increase was attributed to increasing production of F&B by 10.56%;
pharmaceutical, chemicals and traditional herbals 9.92% and electricity
equipments 9.84%.
Data of the Central Board of statistics obtained on
Friday (20/2) disclosed that small-and-medium manufacturing industry products
posting growth in 2014 were: food (10.56%), pharmacy, chemical drugs,
traditional herbals (9.92%; electricity equipments (9.84%), tobacco processing
(8.52%), machineries excluding equipments, (8.16%), basic metal (6.12%)
leather, leather goods and footwear, (5.92%), chemicals and chemical components
(5.21%), other processed products, (4.86%), non metal excavated goods (3.55%),
automotives, trailers and semi trailers, (3.47%), metals. Non-machinery and
equipments (3.27%), ready clothes (1.87%), furniture (1.41%) and rubber, rubber
goods and plastic wares (0.66%).
The type of industries posting production downturn in
2014 against 2013 were repair service industry and machinery installation (down
by 5.81%), textile (5.56%) and other transportation (4.29%), computer,
electronics and optical (4.01%); printing and media recording (0.78%).
Meanwhile growth of micro and small industry in 2014
increased by 4.91% against 2013. For over 3 years there had been increase of
micro-and-small manufacturing industry increased by 7.51% against 2012 when it
increased by 4.06% against 2011.
The types of micro-and-small manufacturing industries
posting increase of more than 5% in 2014 against 2013 were: electricity
equipment (17.15%), printing and reproduction of the recording industry
(11.41%), food (7.65%), repairs and machinery installation (7.34%), other
processing (6.80), furniture (6.30%) and automotives (5.60%).
The types of micro-and-small manufacturing industries
posting downturn in 2014 against 2013 were tobacco processing (39.07%) machineries
excluding equipments (13.27%), pharmaceuticals, chemical drugs and traditional
herbs (9.54%), rubber, rubber goods and plastic wares (8.41%), other
transportation (5.27%), non metal mining products, (4.24%), computers,
electronic and optic goods, (2.70%), chemicals and chemical materials (1.55%);
wood and wood products and woven rattan (1.26%). (SS)
