The Commission VII of
Parliament led by Zairullah Azhar made direct inspection on coal mining in
Jorong, Tanah, Laut, and South Kalimantan. The BKP2B PT Jorong Barutama Greston
(JBG) was one of the mining sites inspected by Commission
VII of House. After brief explanation by JBG, the team inspected the mining
site and witnessed how legal minds could be so easily possessed by illegal
miners who operated without permit. This was disclosed by the Public Relations
Dept. of House on Monday (9/2).
According to Gde Wdiada, Head of Technical Division of PT
JBG to total area of mines exploited by permitless miners was quite expansive.
He expected that the takeover of legal mines by illegal miners complete with
heavy equipment’s could be stopped and tackled. He feared that in the future
when JBG was no longer in operation illegal mining would be at large.
In response to the explanation, Zairulah Anhar wished the
matter could be settled without advantaging all parties especially the people
of South Kalimantan. All parties, including the police must be invited to
discuss matters so all problems could be solved.
Member of Commission VII o House Mustofa Assegaf stated
he was disheartened to see all the problems afield. Law enforcers were expected
to act firmly on illegal miners. He used to hear reports but now he had seen
law breaking directly now the House must find ways to troubleshoot problems.
To Form Minerba Working
Committee
Head of Commission VII of House Zairullah Azhar disclosed
that there were some conclusions drawn from technical inspection to some mining
sites, among them was to PT Jorong Baturama Greston in Tanah Laut. The case of
land reclamation and execution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) needed
improvement.
Besides, Commission VII of House would follow up their
technical visit by recommending to set up a Working Committee for Coal Mining.
Besides, to ask the Police Commander of South Kalimantan to enforce law on illegal
mining.
Follow up to the formation of The Minerba Working
Committee (Panja minerba) was to invite members of PKP2B. Through this
Committee the case would be dissected with focus on renegotiation of minerba,
Land Reclamation and Benefit for people’s Economy. (SS)
