Samudera Indonesia posts 7% increase in income to $187M

Shipping company PT Samudera Indonesia has reported a 7% increase in income to Rp1.69 trillion ($187 million) in 2007 from the previous year, Asia Pulse reported.
Randi Effendy, the president of the subsidiary of Samudera Shipping Line Ltd, said growing exports and imports contributed to the increase in its income.
The company operates mainly in the transport of export and import goods between Indonesia and Singapore and Thailand. Shipping business has not been good lately because of bad weather that shipments are often delayed, he noted.
