Internet in Indonesian villages by 2011
Minister of Information and Communication Muhammad Nuh is optimistic that the internet can be accessed by entire villages in Indonesia by 2011. “We plan to have it four years earlier than what the Education Department targeted as 2015,” he said in Jakarta yesterday. According to M. Nuh, 38,000 villages in Indonesia need more access to connect to the phone and internet. He requested the internet and phone users not to be concerned about the price. “The internet price will be reduced by this July,” he said.
