While rebuilding public
trust in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources [ESDM], ex Ministry of
ESDM Sudirman Said stated he would simplify permit application procedures which
was felt as an obstacle. The effort to simplify permit application procedures
would begin by running the one-stop-service program.
“At the cabinet meeting it was discussed that in a situation
where energy was at crucial point unless wisely tackled would enter a phase of
crisis. Therefore our task ahead should be done with the right mood, with the
spirit of building sense of crisis” this was disclosed by the Minister of
Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said on Monday [27/10].
Minister Said that there were two points being
underscored by the President: one was to identify bottleneck, secondly the
permit application system which often held back process. In not too distant
future the Government would set up and run a one stop service center to serve
as solution to lengthy procedure of permit issuance.
Reformation in permit issuance service run by the
Minister of ESDM was in accordance with the plan of the Director General of
Mineral and Coal R. Sukhyar who made a breakthrough in simplifying permit
issuance process from 101 permits to 71 permits consisting of 31 permits, 27
approvals and 14 recommendations/certifications. By authority, 26 permits was
fully under KESDM, 20 permits under KESDM and other ministries and under other
