ONE STOP SERVICE SET UP FOR EASIER APPLICTION PROCEDURE



While rebuilding public trust in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources [ESDM], ex Ministry of ESDM Sudirman Said stated he would simplify permit application procedures which was felt as an obstacle. The effort to simplify permit application procedures would begin by running the one-stop-service program.

“At the cabinet meeting it was discussed that in a situation where energy was at crucial point unless wisely tackled would enter a phase of crisis. Therefore our task ahead should be done with the right mood, with the spirit of building sense of crisis” this was disclosed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said on Monday [27/10].

Minister Said that there were two points being underscored by the President: one was to identify bottleneck, secondly the permit application system which often held back process. In not too distant future the Government would set up and run a one stop service center to serve as solution to lengthy procedure of permit issuance.

Reformation in permit issuance service run by the Minister of ESDM was in accordance with the plan of the Director General of Mineral and Coal R. Sukhyar who made a breakthrough in simplifying permit issuance process from 101 permits to 71 permits consisting of 31 permits, 27 approvals and 14 recommendations/certifications. By authority, 26 permits was fully under KESDM, 20 permits under KESDM and other ministries and under other institutions and Provincial Government. (SS)
