The Central Board of
Statistics (BPS) announced the that the number of domestic air passengers on
March 2012 rose to 4.4 million, an increase of 10.63% against previous month.
Increasing number of passengers was posted at Soekarno-Hatta airport Jakarta
13.3%, Juanda airport Surabaya 9.98%, Ngurah Rai airport Denpasar 7.89%,
Hasanuddin airport Makassar 7.52%, Polonia airport Medan 7.15%.
Meanwhile the number of domestic air passengers through
January-March 2012was posted at 12.8 million people, an increase of 5.70%
against same period of the previous year which was posted at 12.1 million
passengers. The highest number of passengers was posted at Soekarno-Hatta
Airport Jakarta posted at 4.7 million passengers or 36.35% of the entire
domestic passengers, followed by Juanda by airport Surabaya 1.6 million
passengers or 1.25%.
The number of international air passengers in March 2012
was 1.0 million people, an increase of 1.0 million people against February
2012. Increasing number of passengers was posted at Soekarno-Hatta international
airport 19.25%, Juanda airport Surabaya 12.99%, Hasanuddin airport Makassar
9.09%, Polonia airport Medan 8.10% and Ngurah Rai airport Denpasar 5.51%.
The highest number of international passengers was posted
in Soekarno-Hatta airport Jakarta 537.000 passengers or 52.81% of total out
bound passengers, followed by Ngurah Rai airport Denpasar Bali 244.9% thousand
passengers or 27.08%.
Through January-March 2012 the total number of outbound
passengers using national or foreign carriers reached 2.8 million people, an
increase of 14.92% against same period of the previous year at 2.5 million
people.
The highest number of outbound passengers through Soekarno
Hatta airport Jakarta reached 1.4 million or 49.08% of total number of outbound
passengers, followed by Ngurah Rai airport Denpasar 782.7 thousand passengers
or 27.56%.
