President: Indonesia's 2008 GDP growth seen at nearly 6%
Indonesia's economy may grow nearly 7% in 2008 following a forecast over 6% growth last year because of higher spending and investment in infrastructure, President Yudhoyono said. Yudhoyono said the impact of the U.S. sub prime mortgage loan crisis would likely be limited on Southeast Asia's biggest economy and he expects his administration to weather soaring global oil prices. The government expects Indonesia's economy to grow 6.8% in 2008. (http://www.antara.co.id/en/arc/2008/1/2/indonesias-2007-gdp-growth-seen-above-6-pct-president/)
