Government Electronic Banking launched

Bank Indonesia (BI), cooperating with the Finance Department, has launched Bank Indonesia Government Electronic Banking (BIG-eB). The system’s operations are aimed at strengthening fiscal and monetary authority coordination. Miranda S. Goelthom, BI’s Senior Deputy Governor, said that the system was also for applying the provision of the State Decree No. 1/2004 on the state treasury. The decree states that the government’s account performance is to be carried out by the finance minister through the opening of a state general account in BI and in its realization using the Treasury Single Account principle.
