BPS: high inflation rate will boost economic growth
Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Rusman Heriawan said the high inflation rate of 6.59% in 2007 may boost Indonesia's economic growth by 6.3% as projected in the Revised State Budget. "There is a reverse relation between inflation and demand-driven economic development because this means increased demand, the inflation also increased, but production also goes up," he said after attending a coordination meeting on inflation.
