Vice President calls for energy efficiency

Vice President Kalla called on the entire nation to make an efficient use of energy as the global oil prices hit a record high of US$100 per barrel. "What we need to do this year is to make an efficient use of energy and increase production because we have decided not to raise fuel prices," Kalla said. He added that energy efficiency efforts had been made through the kerosene-to-gas conversion program, the use of energy-efficient light bulbs, and the limitation of street lights and billboards.
